What does GitLab Ultimate cost?
GitLab no longer publishes a list price for Ultimate; it is sold on custom pricing. Your price depends on user count, term, deployment and any Duo or credit commitments. Older articles quoting US$99 per user per month are out of date. Request a quote and we will obtain current pricing for your exact scenario.
Do guest users need a paid Ultimate seat?
No. Ultimate includes unlimited free guest users, which suits organisations where many stakeholders only need to view issues, epics and dashboards. Premium does not include free guests.
Can we try Ultimate before buying?
Yes. GitLab offers a 30-day trial with nearly all Ultimate features for GitLab.com and Self-Managed (GitLab 18.0+). We help you set success criteria (for example, scanning three real projects and triaging findings) so the trial answers a business question.
Is Ultimate worth it if we already have a separate SAST tool?
Sometimes not. If your security team is committed to another scanner, Premium plus that tool can be cheaper. Ultimate pays off when you want scanning, vulnerability management, security policies and compliance reporting in the developer workflow and to retire separate tools. We will give you an honest comparison.
Can we upgrade from Premium to Ultimate mid-term?
Yes, upgrades during a term are possible and are co-termed with your existing subscription. We handle the paperwork and pro-rata pricing.
